I've never liked the idea of buying perfume for myself, which may seem very obnoxious but, I can't justify spending money on something as luxurious as perfume! However, this comes with the great risk of being given perfumes that when you smell them your nose scrunches up into a little prune shape and then the bottle is banished to the back of a drawer (unless the bottle is pretty then it stays on display!)
Luckily this year I was given some beautiful perfumes as gifts and all of them (as far as I know) were reasonably priced, ranging from £9 to £30
Firstly I received a rather unusual scent from my parents for christmas. In the weeks leading up to christmas I took the obligatory trip to Boots to battle the crowds and buy last minute 'smelly' presents and came across the 'sale' section of the perfumes with the likes of Britney, JLo and Paris flogging their wears to the teen market with their glitzed up bottles with free charms...blergh!
But among that lot I came across Victoria Beckams scent 'Intimately Beckham' which just had a beautiful floral scent! Priced at £20
The brand describes itself as "Perfect for the everyday girl next door". Which...isn't great. But I do agree that the scent is beautifully light with the 'top notes' being Bergamot and Rose Petal.
Fun Fact! Bergamot is actually a fragrant fruit the size of an orange, the colour of a lime and grows in Southern Italy! Interesting!
Overall I think its a beautiful sweet smell but also has just the right amount of musk to work as evening wear.

The perfume describes itself to;
"Evoke the sensuality and delicacy of bare skin with its luminous floral and skin-like warmth"
Which, strangely, I agree with! The scent really works with your own 'au natural' scent! With 'top notes' of peach, red berry and bergamot (again!) it is a beautiful floral, fruity, delicate scent.
And the bottle! Ugh! The bottle! I think it is so elegant and simple and fits beautifully into your palm when you are spritzing!

First of all, the bottle...I hate it! It has a really plasticy feel to it and has a horrid plastic cap! The bottom half of the bottle thankfully is glass, but a very thick clunky kind of glass. Not very elegant or pretty. I received the perfume as a gift from a relative who is renowned for her terrible taste in presents so I did fear smelling it but I was pleasantly surprised! The perfume has floral and fruity notes (surprise surprise!) but interestingly one of the main scents is coconut, which is really quite pretty!
Although I probably wont be displaying the ugly bottle, the scent itself really is quite pretty for such a great price!
Side Note: The strangest thing about this product? The fact that within the set, you recieve the perfume, a body lotion and...wait for it...fcuk pants. Yes really. Not lingerie. Girl Boxers. Wow.

Lastly I actually bought a perfume for myself in the christmas sales. Priced at just £15 for the whole set! (full sized perfume, lotion and shower gel) The scent is called 'Cherry Blossom' from The Body Shop.
This is actually my favourite perfume out of the whole lot. I think the bottle is very sweet and pretty while the scent is just stunning for both day and night! The scent is, of course, cherry blossom and it just smells delicious! And at such a price I think I may have found my signature scent!

I also got the Fcuk friction perfume for Christmas, did you find that the paint under the nozzle chiped off the first time you opened it ? Because mine did and I was just wondering if this happened to every bottle x
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that! It didn't happen to mine, but I haven't used it much yet! Did you like the scent?
