I've always loved and trusted Maybelline mascara. I think it goes back to seeing my mum use the Maybelline Great Lash mascara with the iconic green and pink packaging and mum always knows best right? I got this mascara mainly because of hype around it and the way Maybelline suggestively told me that it's THE BIGGEST BRUSH EVER! and BIGGER IS BETTER!
Saucy.
Saucy.
* First Impression *
I do like the packaging. It's not really the classiest of packaging but I quite like the bright colour and the simple shape. It also makes me feel like I'm getting more for my money due to the thickness of the barrel and I do like a bargain!
Just like No7's Lash 360º the brush is really quite overwhelming! It really is massive! I noticed that the bristles themselves are quite fine, which made me optimistic that it would be able to coat each individual lash.

* Application *
Due to the absolutely 'colossal' brush (sorry, it really is!) it is very difficult to apply without using a eyelid guard. It also is useless when it comes to what-I-call 'baby lashes' in the corners and on the bottom lash. When you try to use the tip of the brush to coat the tiny inside corner lashes, it is extremely hard to do without poking yourself in the eye. Or is that just me being clumsy?
The mascara itself I feel works well and as you can see from the photograph of the brush the mascara doesn't come out clumpy or cling on to the brush in lumps.
One merit of the mascara I will give is that, when applied, the mascara doesn't dry out and make your lashes have that hard spidery effect, which is a plus.
* Overall *
Although I like the mascara itself, I think the size of the brush does bring my overall thoughts down. It is a very difficult mascara to apply.
I also purchased it in a waterproof edition. i'm not really sure why, but I think I usually just assume mascaras are waterproof, so when I saw this, I panic bought! Anyway, I don't know if it having a waterproof formula changes anything (let me know in the comments!)
At the price of £7.19 (random pricing!) at both Boots and Superdrug, it is an affordable mascara and I would recommend trying it out for yourself! Especially if you have larger eyes, it is probably much easier to apply!
