I actually received this Soap and Glory mascara at my freshers fair at University! It came in a gift bag along with Elle magazine and a benefit lip tint, all just for £1! So I really wasn't expecting much from it...

* First Impressions *
The packaging is...okay. It isn't really that special. But I guess it's inside that counts! The packaging claims to give volume to your lashes more than lengthening (which is what I personally need)
Also, the brush is ma-hu-sive and quite similar to Maybellines' Colossal Volum' Express. The only difference being that the Volum' Express has far more bristles, spaced much closer together, allowwin you to reach every lash.
One thing I don't like about this product, is the jargon it seems to push within it's product description...
"Featuring SUPERFILL False lash fillers, SHINE AMPLIFIERS, NOFLAKE24 technolgy and super-fine no-clumps natural wax film formers"
...say what?!

* Application *
As the brush is so big, it is very difficult to coat those baby lashes and bottom lashes with this brush. I also find that there is still the eternal problem of covering your eyelids with mascara as the brush is so big! The mascara itself applies surprisingly evenly, although it is very thick. I did find that it does clump a bit and the brush isn't 'comb-like' enough to sort that out...
* Overall *
At £10 (at Boots) it is a little pricey. I would expect for the full price for the packaging to be much nicer as well as the product and brush being more refined and just generally...better. However, you should definitely try out this mascara if you want to mainly thicken up your lashes. The mascara itself is viscous, meaning its halfway between a solid and a liquid, creating a thick, dramatic look as well as holding your lashes to attention!
